Description of Research
I have a background in numerical ecology, spatial analyses (geostatistics and GIS), modelling species distribution and suitable habitat, marine spatial planning. I have been involved in investigation of species assemblages multivariate and spatial structure and their relationship to their habitat and ecological niche. I have worked in ecological research labs in England and in France and have contributed to several European projects addressing the factors constraining fish population and community distribution and spatial planning issues.

In MARBEC, I am involved on the following research topics :

  • Individuals, populations and habitats
  • Communities’ dynamics and functioning
  • Ecosystem approach to fisheries

Professional Preparation

  • PhD in Numerical Ecology (2001, University of Wolverhampton, UK)
  • BSc (Honors) in Applied Biology. Plant and Environment (1998, Nottigham Trent University)

Professional Appointments

  • 2013-present Laboratoire Halieutique Méditerranée, Ifremer (Sète, France)
  • 2004-2013 Unité Halieutique de Manche mer du Nord, Ifremer (Boulogne, France)
  • 2002-2003 Post-doctoral Position in Laboratoire Ecologie pour l’Halieutique, Ifremer (Nantes, France)
