Research Interests

Microbial ecology of the oceans. Controls on bacterial dynamic and community composition and structure, including viral attack. Recent research focuses on the interactions between micro- and marine macro-organisms to describe the taxonomic and phylogenetic facets of the animal-associated bacterial communities, their stability, resilience and beneficial and detrimental roles for the host.
